The most beautiful Starbucks in the world This past Sunday we stopped by the Starbucks near Toyama Station before I headed back to Chiba for another week of work. They have totally refurbished this old industrial canal zone behind Toyama Station recently. A big draw is this really cool Starbucks, which I think has to be one of the coolest in the world! This visit was another example of our family making the most of our short time together. Great time! 48 photos |

iPad waiting line at Ginza Apple Store Went down to the Apple Store today to pre-order an iPad 3G. Got there about 4:50pm, and there were only about 14 people ahead of me on the 2nd floor. After I came out of the shop, the line had grown to about 25 on the 2nd floor and to about 15 for people waiting outside to get in. Looks like lots of folks were coming down after work to pre-order their machines. From what I could hear, the 64 GB model was most popular. 2 photos |

1st snow in Toyama, 2009-2010 Wow! Last night we had the first significant snowfall of the 2009-2010 season. About 12 cm fell, but it's still coming down, so I expect a lot more. With the ski areas slated to open tomorrow, the timing is perfect! 18 photos |
