   Dear Jerry,

   I’ve struggled with what to say, what to send, or what to do with the heartfelt thanks I have for all your gracious efforts to help me get my dissertation finished. You provided technical support, emotional support, and you did it all in a very kind and thoughtful way. I wish I could send you some acreage to remind you of your home here in the States, but I wouldn’t know what to put it in.

   It’d be so great to meet in person someday and share a good meal or a glass of vino. Anyway, I’m posting this on your blog as my way of letting everybody who reads this know - and I’m sure they do already - that you’re one helluva guy! And I’m thankful to call you a friend.

   Dear Talandis Family, Jerry turned out really well. If you had anything to so with it, and you probably did, may I say, ‘Well done!’
